In the words of Justin Bieber, "is it too late now to say sorry?"
Okay well, I'll be the first to admit I definitely dropped the ball over here for a little bit! The business of the holiday's got the best of me and I've been in survival/ recovery mode with my family from this current cold & flu season. Anyone else?
With that being said, Happy belated New Year, Valentine's Day, and Spring!
..and a preemptive Happy Easter, for good measure!
I'm back, and hopping on to share all the fun details of Izzy's 5th birthday. I have to be honest in saying I debated going all out for this one at first, but as soon as she told me she wanted it bunny themed, I definitely couldn't resist! We gave it a fun twist with some boho disco ball goodness and we came up with her Boho Bunny Birthday!
There were so many elements to her party, and even though I outsourced a lot of the work, I was still running around like a chicken with my head cut off making sure that everything came together the way that I pictured it. #partyplannerlife
Thank goodness for our amazing family photographer Suzy, for coming through to capture all the details before a bulk of the guests arrived. This was my favorite party theme I've done so far, and seeing Izzy's face light up was well worth the stress.
Disco Balls & Daisies
Though I typically make my own balloon arches, I found this amazing small business locally, and I couldn't resist. She and her husband did an amazing job and I told her she's officially now my designated balloon lady. (If that's even a thing?) I mean, look at that arch! Also the amazing "Some Bunny's 5" signage I got from my sweet friend Megan from @finding_foley (on IG) was the perfect addition!
The picnic table set up was my big project for the day, sourcing things from small shops like the cute printable flags from Thread Mama (Instagram here) as well as big box stores like Amazon, Target, Home Goods, Michaels, and even The Dollar Tree. If you have specific questions about where everything is from leave a comment down below!
These picnic tables were a Pinterest hack using Ikea baskets and tabletops! I secured them using adhesive cord bundlers from Amazon and it worked perfectly.
Based on the sneak peaks over on Instagram, the daisy floor pillows seem to be a crowd favorite (of mine too!) so I'll link similar ones here if you're looking to grab some! [Afflink]
Let there be cake
For food we had catering from a local Mediterranean food place (for the adults), and good ol' pizza and lemonade for the littles. The custom cake and cupcakes were from a local bakery, and the cookies were from a talented neighbor. The rest of the desserts included macarons and dessert bites from Trader Joes, and a homemade berry trifle.
My husband was in charge of ordering the pizza, and he learned really quickly that kids always want cheese over pepperoni. He mistakenly ordered equal amounts, to which I face palmed and and hoped the kids would be too distracted by the cake and bounce house to notice the scarcity of cheese pizza.
What's a bunny birthday without a place to hop around? This all-white bounce house from What's Bouncing was the GOAT and kept the kids busy the entire party. I highly recommend grabbing a bouncer combo with either a slide or ball pit (or both) for your next party.
Lastly, here are a few more fun details that made the day that much more special including the bunny favor bags I put together (details found here), some Annie's bunny party snacks from Target, bunny ears for each guest from Oriental Trading, and this amazing custom coloring banner from Sydney Audrey Coloring!
A huge thank you to all our friends and family who were able to come and celebrate our sweet girl turning 5! *Cue the mama tears*
