DIY Holiday Stovetop Potpurri

Research shows that our sense of smell is the closest thing linked to our memories. Personally, the smells of the holidays are my favorite. Cinnamon, spices, oranges, nutmeg.. I love it all! This easy and budget-friendly DIY makes the perfect hostess gift for all your holiday gatherings.

Materials/ Ingredients:

  • Medium Sized Canning Jar (I used 16 oz ones)

  • Whole Cloves

  • Whole Star Anise

  • Dried Orange Slices

  • Sprigs of Fresh Greenery (Pine, Spruce, Rosemary, etc)

  • Cinnamon Sticks

  • Assorted Ribbon


Directions:

  • Add all ingredients into the jar

  • Add ribbon

  • Add instructions tag, you can use the one below or make your own with these directions: Add all ingredients to a large pot of water and bring to a low-boil. Keep on low and monitor the water level.

I created a tag that you can add on, just punch a hole at the top and use bakers twine or ribbon to secure around the lid of the jar.

Additional ingredients you can add to your potpourri:

  • fresh/ dried cranberries

  • sprig of thyme

  • sprig of rosemary

  • vanilla beans

  • fresh lemon

  • fresh apple
